New members for the Board of the
Sphere Project
The Sphere Project took a new form in April 2005,
based on a series of consultations held during 2004 to determine the
future of the Project (update on June
and October 2004).
As part of this new form, the Sphere Management Committee has been replaced
by the Sphere Board as the governing body of the Project.
Following a call for applications for new members
to the Board at the end of 2004, 2 new members have joined the Board.
There remain a few vacant places, so it has been decided to reopen the
application process for 4 months as from 5 August 2005. Applications
are open to NGO (non governmental organisation) networks or families
who are committed to the effective use and promotion of Sphere. Full
details are given in the membership package :
• a letter of invitation from the Chair of the Sphere Board;
• the Sphere Project New Governance Structure;
• an application form.
Please note that all Board meetings and communications
are conducted in English. Unfortunately there is currently no provision
for translation/interpretation facilities for Board representatives,
who therefore need to be able to operate in English.
This could be with the aid of interpretation/translation if necessary,
as long as this can be provided by the applying organisation.
