This workshop was undertaken as part of World Vision Asia Pacific Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs (APHEA) regional strategy for meeting the quality and accountability standards.  APHEA would like to establish a pool of Sphere trainers to help roll-out Sphere Trainings in the region as part of building and enhancing the National Office and Regional Disaster Management Team (RDMT) capacity to prepare for and respond to the increasing numbers of emergencies in the region. The workshop was facilitated by Kelly Wooster.

The Workshop was undertaken as part of the Sphere Focal Point Project to meet a continuing demand for more Sphere trainers in Pakistan. This brief report is written by Kelly Wooster, an independent consultant, who was main facilitator for the five  ways.This workshop aimed to give participants the knowledge, techniques and tools required for conducting effective Sphere trainings. The purpose of the course was to allow participants to approach Sphere training with confidence, comfort and enthusiasm.

El CpC número 18 del Proyecto Esfera tuvo lugar en el SPA Renacer, de la Colonia Tovar en Venezuela, entre el 9 y el 17 de junio de 2008. Asistieron un total de 22 participantes (de los 24 seleccionados) procedentes de 10 países diferentes. El equipo de facilitadores estuvo compuesto por Martín Villarroel de la Alianza Save the Children y Darío Alvarez de la Federación Internacional de Cruz Roja, y liderado por Ana Urgoiti, consultora independiente. El curso fue patrocinado por la Oficina del Proyecto Esfera y organizado en colaboración con la Cruz Roja Italiana y la Cruz Roja Venezolana. El apoyo logístico y administrativo estuvo a cargo de Marco La Pietra, responsable de la Delegación Andina de la Cruz Roja Italiana.

La 17ème formation de formateurs du Projet Sphère s’est tenue au Grand Hôtel de Niamey au Niger du 27 février au 6 mars 2008. Elle y a été accueillie par le bureau de World Vision Niger. 
L’équipe de formateurs était composée de Sylvie Robert, consultante indépendante, Rory Downham, directeur de la formation à l’Institut Bioforce Développement, et Sansan Dimanche, coordinateur des activités de santé et de nutrition à World Vision Niger.

The Sphere Training of Trainer event was hosted by the American Red Cross from May 27th to the June 2nd 2007. The training was a residential event held at the at the Central Karon Beach Resort in Phuket, Thailand.

The training team was Emma Jowett, an independent consultant, who acted as lead trainer. The two co-trainers were Kari Egge, Regional Health Advisor for the American Red Cross and Suneet Anand, Director for Disaster Management and Disaster Preparedness for the Indian Red Cross.

Report of the first World Vision Sphere ToT (internal course) hosted by its East Africa Regional Office in Nyeri, Kenya, 9 to 16 August 2004. Twenty-six key staff from the three WV Africa sub-regions participated. The course was facilitated by the following WV staff: John West, ART Capacity Building Coordinator; Anthea Spinks, Relief Manager – Mozambique; Florencio Marerua, ART Capacity Building Officer; and Andrew Bone, East Africa Sub-Regional Relief Coordinator.

Sphere India, a national coalition of humanitarian agencies in India, conducted the first Sphere Training of Trainers in India (in Bangalore) from 16 to 23 May 2004.  The training team consisted of Juan Saenz (independent) as the lead facilitator, co-facilitated by Christophe Lanord (independent), CK Pathak (independent) and Suneet Anand (IFRC, India). PV Krishnan, Sphere India Coordinator was the course administrator.
