Sphere workshop was organized and conducted in Bahirdar from November 3 – 5, 2006 at Papyrus Hotel Training room. The cost of the training was covered from UN OCHA emergency response fund. Participants were represented from Regional, Zonal and Woreda line departments, CARE South Gondar and World Vision South Gondar office.

El taller de Proyecto Esfera: “Carta Humanitaria y Normas Mínimas de respuesta humanitaria en casos de desastre”, se desarrolló en la Ciudad de Maracaibo, estado Zulia, Venezuela del 11 al 14 de diciembre de 2007.
El taller fue desarrollado en el marco proyecto Frontera, entre la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones – OIM y Protección Civil y Administración de Desastres del estado Zulia, también se contó con el apoyo de la Cruz Roja Venezolana, Seccional Zulia.

Plan International has incorporated Child centeredness and Disaster Risk Reduction as the key component of its strategy in disaster management. In this endeavour it has embarked on a series of training programmes incorporating various aspects of Disaster Risk Reduction. Based on the strategic plans this was the second training programme organised by the Plan Asia Regional office on Sphere.
This training workshop, which was of 5 days duration, was held from 19 to 23 November 2007 at Hotel Windsor Suits, Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop was to be attended by 21 Participants, however due to various commitments, only 19 participants attended the training. The participants came from nine different country offices with one staff from the regional office.

As part of on-going efforts to promote dissemination of humanitarian principles and building capacities of both government and non-government actors, UNDP & UNOCHA conducted a Sphere training course in Nyanga from the 11th to the 13th of March, 2008. A total of 28 participants attended the training. Over 50% of the attendees came from the key government sector ministries, that is, Departments of Social Welfare, AGRITEX, Civil Protection, Zimbabwe National Water Authority. Participants from non-government humanitarian actors were drawn from both national and international organizations, for example, Christian Care, Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), Save the Children, to name but a few.
