In preparedness to increasing disaster risks in the Middle-East, an intensive training course on disaster management will be conducted in Kuwait from 1-3 April 2008. The training will be conducted in Arabic by Moustafa Osman and will cover the following topics:
Introduction to Disaster Management (the theory)
Humanitarian Principles and Values
Sphere standards in humanitarian response
Introduction to International Humanitarian Law
Needs and Resources Assessment in Emergencies
Dealing with media in emergencies
Personal safety and security in the field
Distribution in emergencies
other related topics.
Target audiences
People who are working or aim to work in the humanitarian field, such as UN Inter-Agency, (inter)national NGOs, Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Civil Defence, national government department for international development …..etc.
