The Interagency Working Group (IAWG) on Disaster Preparedness for Central and East Africa and the OCHA Regional Office in Nairobi are organising a Sphere training

The training will also include 1 days field trip practically applying Sphere.

Brief Agenda (see attached agenda for more details)

Day 1 - AM - Introduction to Sphere
- PM - The Common Standards

Day 2 - AM - Sphere and technical chapter: WASH/Shelter
- PM - Sphere and technical chapter: health; the project cycle

Day 3 - Field Trip: IDP Camp

Day 4 - AM - Practical challenges with using the Sphere handbook in the field
- PM - How can we overcome the challenges; Evaluation and Closure

The participants will be required to purchase their personal Sphere Handbook on the first day of the training (approx KShs 2,000). Conference package, printed course materials, lunch, tea/coffee, water, etc will be provided by the coordinators. All participants are responsible for their own accommodation and transport costs.
