Are there more indicators to assess quality of water? - 2006/04/04 11:47 Are there more indicators to assess quality of water as Sphere Handbook states only few indicators/guidance for assessment of water quality. What do we mean when we say provision of 'safe' and 'drinking' water???? Has there been more specific and tangible defintion for 'safe' and 'drinking'???

Re:Are there more indicators to assess quality of water? - 2006/04/20 11:07 Interesting to see a question like this as it outlines that Sphere highlights a limited (but important)number of indicators to assess the quality of water in emergencies, complementing but not replacing other more detailed standards eg National standards, WHO Guidelines for Drinking Water quality. Adhering to Sphere does not mean that it exludes the use of other standards/guidelines; whilst Sphere standards can be seen as universal, indicators must reflect the context in which you are working
