The Sphere Training Program has been developed to help practitioners learn how to apply the Sphere handbook in their work.
This section of the website is designed as a tool for anyone facilitating Sphere Project training. It contains Sphere training materials, details of Sphere workshops and information on people who train on Sphere. You can access all of these from the left-hand menu.
The Sphere training materials consist of four modules and a Trainers' Guide. Module 1 introduces the Sphere handbook as a practical tool in humanitarian work; Module 2 covers the Humanitarian Charter in some detail and examines sections of the international legal framework that are relevant to it; Module 3 explores the use of the Sphere handbook through each stage of the project cycle; Module 4 examines the conceptual framework around disaster preparedness and how it relates to the Sphere handbook. The Trainers' Guide is designed to assist trainers organize a successful training event using the modules.
We will find also some other training materials that have not been developed by the Sphere Project. They are technical modules and are complementary to the Sphere Training material.
Under Workshops you will find a description of the type of workshops organized in the past by the Sphere Project, and details of Sphere training events whenever there is one organized by the Sphere Project. You can also access our workshop reports archives.
If you are planning to hold a Sphere training event, the Contacts section provides details of people who have either facilitated or participated in a Sphere Training of Trainers course.
