Update about the Sphere Progress in Indonesia:

a) Sphere Orientation Seminar for Habitat for Humanity - facilitated by me and Wanti in Banda Aceh covered 40 Habitat's personnel, mid October 2005
   
b) Sphere Training for GoI in Banda Aceh organized by UN ORC (UNOCHA in Aceh) jointly with Oxfam-CARE-SATKORLAK NAD, facilitated by Faisal (Jakarta), Saiful (Banda Aceh), Nurjanah (Bandung) and me, attended by 21 participants (75% GoI from provincial and affected districts, 20% female, 25% NGO), 23-26 November 2005
  

c) Sphere training in Sigli organized by local NGO (Oxfam's partner, funded by Oxfam PSLU) attended by around 60 participants (district GoI, local NGOs, I did not get the profile of the participants yet), facilitated by Oya (Bandung), Wanti (Banda Aceh), Adi (Yogyakarta), Catur (Jakarta), 24-27 November 2005.
  
d) Sphere Training and Refereshing for Oxfam Personnel in Meulaboh attended by around 30 Oxfam (the profile is not submitted yet), facilitated by Usman (Nabire), Julius (Kupang), and Didiek (Semarang), with my supervision (presentation material), 12 - 15 December 2005.
  
e) The TLC review based on Sphere's Minimum Standards and Key Indicators. The data gathering was done during 5 - 11 December 2005 and preliminary presentation of the finding was done on 15th December 2005. The reporting is the writing process. Team consisted of the ex Sphere Training participants that I facilitated which organized by Hivos (July 2005),  the University of Syiah Kuala (July 2005), and some from the last training in November.
   
For next January 2006 (in the preparation)
f) Sphere Training for Oxfam Personnel at East Coast Aceh in Lhok Seumawe. Planned to be facilitated by Inda (Makassar), Ambo (Makassar), Gendon (Yogyakarta) and me, 3-7 January 2006
   
g) Sphere Training for Provincial GoI, LSM, University by University Syiah Kuala in Banda Aceh, 11-14 January 2006. Planned to be facilitated by Sofyan (Jakarta), Dani (Surabaya), Eko Supeno (Surabaya). The last two are not confirmed.
  
h) Sphere Training of Trainers organized by UN ORC jointly with Oxfam- CARE-SATKORLAK NAD and possibly Islamic Relief. Will be decided today (21 Dec 2005), planned to be organized in Sabang, 16-24 January 2006. I am still in process of offering the possible facilitator who can speak Bahasa Indonesia.
   
i) Sphere Orientation One-day Seminar for Oxfam International Personnel (Ex patriate) sometime in January or February for managers, team leader/coordinator.
  
Other news which is not related to the Magelang Sphere ToT:
   1) The successful insertion of the Sphere Orientation Seminar into the KOO (Knowledge of Oxfam) session in Nias last October 2005. (but this is followed with the rejection of Sphere Training by the PM)
   
   2) The on going process of publishing the pocket size of Sphere in Bahasa Indonesia, English and pictorial/comics (bi-languange). Expected next January 2006 will be available in the market.
