Understanding and addressing staff turnover in humanitarian agencies, Network Paper 55, by David Loquercio, Mark Hammersley, and Ben Emmens
Within the humanitarian sector there is a dearth of detailed analysis of the causes and consequences of staff turnover. This paper aims to fill this gap. It discusses the causes of turnover, outlines the key elements of a strategy to retain staff and describes what agencies can do to manage the consequences of staff turnover.
