Sphere signs a Project Agreement to develop an E-Learning tool PDF Print
Wednesday, 21 February 2007
The Sphere Project is glad to announce that it is in the process of signing an Project Agreement (PA) with RedR India, Technology-Assisted Lifelong Learning (TALL) and Forced Migration Online (FMO) at the University of Oxford, UK to develop an E-Learning tool for the Sphere Humanitarian Charter and Minimum Standards in Disaster Response.

According to this MoU, RedR India will assume the overall leadership of the project and the Content Development management, TALL will assume the Technical management, the development of a Prototype and the Quality assurance. FMO will work closely with both RedR India and TALL to contribute to the content development and the technical aspects of the project. The Sphere Project will collaborate with different partners to facilitate the overall process and to support different activities related to project proposal writing, fund raising, piloting, etc. This MoU is the result of a call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) that the Sphere Project issued last July 2006 to identify organisations interested in developing this tool. The next step is to complete a full project proposal which is planned to be ready by next April 2007 then start fund raising.

The Sphere Project is hoping that this important initiative will contribute effectively to fill the gap in capacity building of humanitarian workers while significantly increasing awareness about quality and accountability issues during Humanitarian responses. The Sphere project sees this also as an opportunity for other interested organisations to participate in this initiative especially in content development, piloting, field testing, etc. Individuals, organisations can already express their interest by sending an email to the Sphere Office to the following address: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .
