Sphere launched a “low cost” edition of the handbook

The Sphere Project signed a Memorandum of Agreement with 'Books for Change' in India to print a low cost, English language edition of "The Sphere handbook, 2004 edition. The handbook will be produced in India and will be available for 210 Indian Rupees* in the following countries only: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives (Sales Territories).

The launch took place on 26^th October 2007 between 4p.m. and 6p.m at the Alliance Francaise, Bangalore, India. An introduction to what is the Sphere Project was presented by Jane Cocking, Sphere Board member followed by a discussion with the audience and a vote of thanks by Veronica Foubert from the Sphere Office. The book release was attended by members from Sphere India and some NGOs and Press representatives.

* Indian Rs 210 for individual sales. A 50% bulk discount for orders over 50 and a 30% discount for 25 to 50 copies would be applied for humanitarian, non-profit organizations.
