Sphere encourages both the translation and the reproduction of the Handbook, as this is seen as an important way of disseminating Sphere and of ensuring ownership at the local level. In order to ensure that translations duly reflect the original text, the Sphere Office has developped a number of translation guidelines. However, given that Sphere does not have the resources to operate further quality control mechanisms, for all locally translated versions of the Handbook, Sphere does not take responsability.

Other than the Handbook, this disclaimer also applies to the variety of other Sphere-related tools that have been developped locally, such as concise versions of the Handbook for use at community level.
