About the Economic Recovery Standards
The Minimum Standards for Economic Recovery after Crisis, developed by practitioners from over 20 development and humanitarian agencies, seek to achieve consensus on minimum industry standards for programming. The first edition includes sections on financial services; enterprise development; employment creation and asset transfers, as well as operations and assessments. The Standards aim to improve the capabilities and accountability of humanitarian and economic practitioners, and to ensure lasting positive impact for affected households and markets, to reduce the risk of sliding back into conflict.

The Standards handbook is based upon the format of the Sphere Handbook for minimum response in humanitarian interventions. SEEP will submit the Economic Recovery Standards to Sphere for companion status in 2010.  This workshop is one of a series of consultations and field tests to launch the Standards globally and to invite input from stakeholders.
