Sphere focal points

A network of Sphere regional partners and country focal points work in close relation with the Sphere Project office to raise awareness and disseminate knowledge of Sphere principles and standards around the world. You can find them in our focal points database.

Country focal points

These are organizations or individuals who actively promote and advocate Sphere principles and standards at country-wide level. In principle, there is one focal point per country. Where there is more than one, they are expected to be informed of each others' activities and collaborate as opportunities arise.

Country focal points develop their own Terms of Reference (based on a sample provided in the Sphere focal points strategy), which are validated by the Sphere Project office and published on the Sphere website.

Regional partners

Regional partners are agencies or groups of agencies chosen by country focal points in a given region and tasked to carry out regional quality and accountability activities. Regional partners sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sphere Project office.

Focal points within organizations are not listed on the Sphere focal points database. However, all organizations are invited to mainstream Sphere in their programme activities.
