Sphere Workshops

At the beginning of the Sphere Training program, we concentrated our efforts on organizing 3-4 day Sphere Inter-agency workshops. At present a shift has been made to focusing on organizing Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops. The last ToT was held in Geneva between the 27th of November to the 5th of December 2005.

• A ToT is designed for two groups of people: existing trainers, or "change agents" who will use training and other organizational and individual learning strategies to institutionalize Sphere within their agencies.

• A Sphere workshop has, as its goal, to teach humanitarians how to apply the Sphere handbook in practice. A workshop is usually designed by the trainer to meet the specific needs of the participants.

Although the Sphere Project no longer holds these workshops, ToT "graduates" continue to facilitate Sphere workshops and other learning events. For details see charts
